The Jets have begun working on some of the special plays they have designed for new quarterback Tim Tebow.

Jets coach Rex Ryan, through a team spokesman, told reporters that the team has run a couple of direct snaps to Tebow this week. The spokesman said the plays were nothing fancy, just regular direct snaps.

The issue arose after Ryan played coy in his press conference Thursday. The Jets have not done any unconventional offenses during OTAs while the media has been watching. When Ryan was asked if they had implemented anything with Tebow during the closed sessions he said, “As far as you guys know, we haven’t done anything.” That was the final question of the press conference.

The team spokesman then clarified the remark to reporters.

The Jets are expected to have a full package for Tebow that will include wildcat, zone option and even some plays with him at a position other than quarterback. The Jets likely won’t implement all of those things until right before the season. They are working on learning offensive coordinator Tony Sparano’s base offense right now.
