STRAHAN’S A GO
IRVING, Texas – As expected, the Giants have activated Michael Strahan, and the 35-year old defensive end will play in tonight’s season opener against the Cowboys at Texas Stadium.
Strahan reported last Monday after a 36-day holdout that left him in Southern California while his teammates were working through training camp and four preseason games. Strahan’s football preparation consisted of four full practices, and he showed enough to be turned loose by Tom Coughlin.
Whether Strahan starts is undetermined. Either way, he will be on the field for a limited number of snaps – likely not more than 20 – and work at left defensive end in a rotation with Justin Tuck on what is expected to be a warm night in Dallas.
CB Dovonte Edwards was waived.
