PHILADELPHIA — Tebow Mania has cooled considerably, even though speculation continues to build that Tim Tebow will make the Eagles’ regular-season roster.
Normally the focus of intense media attention, Tebow had just a handful of requests from reporters through the first two days of training camp that started Monday and has yet to speak to them.
On the field, Tebow worked ahead of Matt Barkley with the third-team offense Monday and showed uncharacteristic accuracy, completing 11 of 14 passes by one count. Tebow also carried the ball on several designed runs.
Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly isn’t saying much, but it’s Tebow’s running ability — especially in short yardage and on two-point conversions — that is prompting Eagles watchers to continue to buzz that he will end up being kept.
