There is pressure now, expectations to win. The Buccaneers’ young roster will have a bull’s-eye on its back, a national following to deal with.

But general manager Jason Licht doesn’t think that will be a problem, not with the arrival of Tom Brady to go with coach Bruce Arians.

“I don’t have a lot of concerns on that right now,” Licht told ESPN’s “SportsCenter.”

“We have a head coach [Bruce Arians] that, to be quite frank, isn’t gonna be here for the next 15, 20 years coaching the Buccaneers. So I think it was actually a perfect marriage: You’ve got two guys that have got something to prove; they want to win, they want to win now; they’ve got the same mindset.”

It’s a small window, with a 67-year-old coach and legendary 42-year-old quarterback. Brady signed a two-year, $50 million contract with the Bucs after 20 years with the Patriots. ESPN reported that Arians, who was a two-time Coach of the Year with the Colts and Cardinals, isn’t expected to be around for more than two or three years. But his presence, Licht believes, is what helped his franchise land Brady in the first place. Arians, after all, said in February at the NFL Combine that if there was one quarterback he could call it would be Brady, the six-time Super Bowl champion.

“I don’t know if we would be in this situation right now without Bruce Arians as our head coach,” Licht said. “And they’re kind of living parallel lives right now; they’ve got something to prove, and they want to do it now.”
