Tom Brady isn’t afraid to gloat, “I told you so.”
InstagramHours before Sunday’s highly anticipated “The Match” featuring Brady and Phil Mickelson vs. Peyton Manning and Tiger Woods, the Buccaneers quarterback — who claims he never consumed a strawberry — shared a screenshot to his Instagram story highlighting a bizarre development about the fruit.
“Seems like I was right about strawberries all along,” Brady captioned the screenshot of a USA Today story entitled, “Bugs and maggots may crawl out of strawberries washed in salt water. Stay calm, experts say.”
The notion stems from a new TikTok trend, in which those participating soak strawberries in saltwater with tiny worms appearing.
Brady later quipped, “Tomatoes next???”
Last May, the 42-year-old quarterback said he’d be willing to eat a strawberry if then-champion, James Holzhauer, lost on “Jeopardy!”
Spoiler: Holzhauser scored his 23rd victory, and Brady was spared.
“James doesn’t lose and I don’t eat strawberries… keep it moving,” Brady posted to social media at the time.
