Great minds.

On the same day the Buccaneers announced the signing of Tom Brady with “TB x TB” slogan, Brady’s agents filed to trademark it with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), ESPN reported.

The idea is to use it for clothing and sports apparel. TB12, Brady’s company, has already begun selling “TB12 Tampa Bay” shirts online.

This isn’t Brady’s first foray into a trademark request. Last June, he drew headlines — and criticism from Mets fans — for trying to land the “Tom Terrific” moniker. It was, however, denied because the USPTO ruled that it belonged to Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver.

Brady shouldn’t have any such problems with “TB x TB.”
