The Patriots’ Darrelle Revis, one of the two best cornerbacks in football in most everybody’s book, was badly burned by Doug Baldwin for a third-quarter touchdown during Super Bowl XLIX.

Cut to Richard Sherman, the boisterous other contender for that crown, getting in the lens of the NBC camera on the sideline, gleefully indicating “24” with his fingers and pointing to the replay board.

Revis’ uniform number: 24.

But 24 also happened to be the Seahawks’ point total after Baldwin’s grab and an extra point gave them a 10-point cushion on the Patriots.

So which was it: Taunting a rival or a pantomime spin on the old “scoreboard” chant? You can’t put anything past Sherman?
