MSG analyst and Rangers great Ron Duguay breaks down the team’s seven-game winning streak with The Post’s Justin Terranova.

Q:

What’s the biggest thing you’ve seen from the Rangers in this seven-game winning streak?

A: They are getting balanced scoring and coach (John) Tortorella has mixed his players up to see who fits well where, and now I think the same players are feeling very comfortable playing there.

Q: How has Sean Avery fit in since his return?

A: He’s worked hard, his skating looks good and he looks like he’s in great shape.

He’s been very cautious with how he is playing and staying away from bad penalties. As his confidence builds up, he’ll get more relaxed and more comfortable with playing the style Tortorella wants him to play, but still be able to add the element of intimidating their opponent and creating penalties.

Q: What’s most impressed you in Brad Richards first year on Broadway?

A: He’s just always dangerous with the puck because you never know what he’s going to do. He’s not a guy that’s afraid to shoot. A lot of guys, the skill players, sometimes think too much about passing. He will shoot if he feels like he’s in the right position.

Q: Who’s stepped up to make up for Marc Staal’s absence?

A: (Ryan) McDonagh for sure. Some players can’t handle the extra responsibility, ice time; other guys take advantage of it and that’s what McDonagh has done. He’s another kid, who I felt was playing hard in the past but looked a little uptight. But now he’s not afraid to pinch, he’s not afraid to follow up a play, and be the added forward. He stands out more than anyone, but collectively the defense has been playing very well.

Q: How careful do the Devils have to be in handing more starts to Johan Hedberg over Martin Brodeur?

A: It’s one of those things where you have to be careful, but Marty is a pretty relaxed guy. If he gets asked not to play as much that he can handle it better than most goaltenders. If you speak to him correctly and he knows that he’ll be the go-to guy come playoff time, I’m sure he doesn’t mind taking days off and sharing that responsibility.
