The Devils have not had much to celebrate this season, but they do have one player headed to the NHL All-Star Game.

Patrik Elias was one of 36 players chosen by the league on Tuesday for the Jan. 30 game to be played in Raleigh, N.C.

Elias leads the NHL-worst Devils in points (30) and assists (21) this season. Ilya Kovalchuk, who signed a 15-year, $100 million deal this offseason, did not make the game after totaling 10 goals and 13 assists and a team-worst minus-29. The Russian made three All-Star appearances while starring with the Thrashers.

The All-Star teams will be determined by a draft led by two team captains, who have yet to be named.

The Islanders did not have a player selected for the game, but Michael Grabner will be part of All-Star weekend as one of 12 rookies chosen to be part of the Super Skills competition the night before.

Grabner has nine goals in 36 games this season.
