Playing host to the Ducks tonight in Newark and visiting the Penguins tomorrow, the Devils today recalled D Matt Corrente from Lowell while placing C Dean McAmmond on IR.

Corrente, 21, was the Devils’ first-round pick, 30th overall, in 2006, and stood 3-8-11 in15 games for Lowell this season. The Devils are without Paul Martin (broken arm) and Johnny Oduya (lower body) on defense, and lost Jay Leach to Montreal on re-entry waivers when they tried to call him up last week.

McAmmond has yet to play for the Devils, ill since being signed to an NHL deal last week.
