Johan Hedberg will start in goal for the Devils on Thursday against the Flyers, according to reports.

NorthJersey.com reports Hedberg confirmed he would be in nets instead of Martin Brodeur. Coach Jacques Lemaire declined to reveal who the starter would be.

“We’ll see tomorrow,” said Lemaire with a sly smile when asked who would be his starter, according to NJ.com.

“Hopefully, I can play a patience game (vs. Philadelphia) and read the plays well,” Hedberg said, according to the website. “I think the feeling I have playing has been good.”

Earlier this week, Lemaire revealed that the Devils would rely less on Brodeur, who has one win in his past 12 starts and five wins overall this season.

NorthJersey.com says Brodeur has not dressed as the backup for two consecutive games since January 2004. He did not start Tuesday in a 2-1 loss to the Wild.
