Should there be a disappointing end to the season, there will have to be substantial changes to the franchise. Heads must roll. Glen Sather has not done enough during his tenure to make the Rangers the contenders they should be. As one of the league’s marquis teams, this storied club should be a perennial playoff team … but for that to happen there needs to be competent management, savvy draft-picking and an owner that is truly interested in developing a competitive hockey team.

A Rangers dynasty is long overdue, and that ambition should be the goal of everyone involved in shaping this organization. Those standing in the way of such an ambition need to be shown the door.
