The Islanders’ first Brooklyn controversy has been snuffed out.

In an attempt to put a stamp on their new Brooklyn digs, the team switched this preseason to an MTA-inspired goal horn that was intended to resemble the sound of a subway or LIRR train horn. (Note to Barclays Center: The LIRR is a source of frustration, not joy, for most).

Islanders fans were incensed with the change and took to Twitter to express their frustration.

The Islanders were quick to react and switch back to the horn they had used for 43 years at Nassau Coliseum.

Oh, yeah, that’s nice!

Here’s just one example of before-and-after tweet reactions via SI’s Extra Mustard.
