Pulling off a minor coup, Devils GM Lou Lamoriello last night brought fan-favorite Cam Janssen back to the team as a free agent after trading out-of-favor enforcer Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond to Calgary for a fifth-round pick in 2012.

Janssen, 27, returns to his first NHL team, which dealt him to the Blues for Bryce Salvador on Feb. 26, 2008. Janssen scored one goal and piled up 205 penalty minutes in 95 career games with New Jersey, and is 3-6-9 with 685 minutes in 260 career NHL games.

Leblond, 26, was buried in the minors last year after his ill-advised instigation penalty against Marcus Johansson in the final five minutes of a 7-2 loss to Washington in the second game of the season.

The man with four names never played again with the Devils; Leblond was automatically suspended one game for his late instigator penalty, then was waived and demoted. That suspension also cost former coach John MacLean a $10,000 fine and left the Devils below the 20-man bench max.
