Following three straight losses — having been outscored 18-6 in those matches — the Rangers were given yesterday off and have until Saturday’s game in Buffalo to try to straighten themselves out.
Defenseman Wade Redden should be back after he missed the past three games with a shoulder injury. The Rangers sent defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti back down to Hartford, but could recall him if Redden isn’t available for the Sabres.
The Blueshirts, who have been outmuscled in back-to-back losses to the Penguins, face a difficult weekend with games against Buffalo and Detroit.
The Rangers are hosting a toy drive for Toys for Tots today at Bryant Park from 4-7 p.m. Adam Graves and several current Rangers will be on hand.
