Sheetal Banchariya is a reporter for the California Post. Sheetal Banchariya is an experienced journalist whose reporting spans from New York City’s criminal courtrooms and migrant shelters to the war-torn and pandemic-strained education systems in South Asia. Now, Banchariya brings an international perspective to stories about power, policy and people to the California Post. Banchariya’s work has earned recognition through the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) Fellowship, the SPJ Dori Maynard Diversity Leadership Fellowship, selection as an International Women’s Media Foundation Safety Ambassador and honors from the New York Photography Awards. Outside the newsroom, you’ll find Banchariya watching documentaries, getting lost in a good book, training for a run or just chasing sunsets, wherever possible.
