Let the countdown begin, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is coming to theaters (May 5) in almost a week!

As Marvel fans know, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” trilogy features characters Peter Quill a.k.a Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt), Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana), Rocket (voice-over by Bradley Cooper), Nebula (played by Karen Gillan), Drax (played by Dave Bautista), Mantis (played by Pom Klementieff) and Groot (voice-over by Vin Diesel).

After the cast wrapped filming nearly a year ago, director James Gunn announced that this will in-fact be the last “Guardians” movie in the franchise after eight years (the first installment premiered in 2014). “I love this amazing cast and crew and their beautiful talent and kind souls. I’m a lucky human to have them on the journey with me for nearly a decade,” he wrote on Instagram.

In Marvel fashion, the plot details of the third film are top-secret but according to an official synopsis, Star-Lord is “still reeling from the loss of Gamora” (which happened in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War”), but he “must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
