Mitt Romney threw in the towel on his 2016 rerun for the White House, and it turns out he couldn’t go the distance in the ring either — giving up the fight against ex-heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield in the second round.

The 2012 Republican presidential candidate faced off with Holyfield in a friendly boxing match for charity in Salt Lake City on Friday.

“Mitt, you can’t run, you can’t hide. Come and get your whuppin’,” Holyfield said in a video previewing the rumble.

The pair traded gentle blows “that appeared more like a tickle fight than a boxing match,” CNN reported.

He’s the smallest person I ever fought,” Holyfield told CNN.

“The good news is that Evander Holyfield always hits above the belt, and sometimes in politics that isn’t the way things are done,” Romney said.

Proceeds from the bout will benefit CharityVision, a nonprofit that works to battle blindness in developing countries.
