While the Dec. 28 Texas Bowl between Rutgers and Kansas State is still expected to be offered to most, if not all, Cablevision and Time Warner customers, the issues are not fully resolved.

The NFL Network is broadcasting the Texas Bowl, but the network is not currently available to Cablevision or Time Warner customers. The two sides are in a large dispute over how much the network, which shows eight NFL regular season games, should cost.

On Tuesday, the NFL Network offered to make itself available for free to both cable giants for one week, starting on Christmas Eve.

Nevertheless, Cablevision is planning on only showing coverage of the Texas Bowl and not any of the other NFL Network programming.

A spokesman for Time Warner said yesterday it has offered to put the NFL Network on basic cable just for the Texas Bowl or on digital cable – which 75 percent of its tri-state viewers have – for the full seven days.

An NFL Network spokesman said the network is reviewing the Time Warner plan and has not officially heard from Cablevision.
