Baylor kicker Chris Callahan must have the best sense of humor in college football.
The Bears suffered a devastating Cotton Bowl loss to Michigan State — squandering a 20-point fourth-quarter lead — and Callahan got the worst of it: He was absolutely clobbered with a blind-side block after his potential game-icing field-goal try was blocked and returned, setting up the Spartans’ go-ahead touchdown.
The hit was so brutal, some feared for Callahan’s health. But he found the perfect words on Twitter hours after Thursday’s game to laugh off his unaccustomed bell-ringing and express pride in his team’s 11-2 season.
Callahan even had the graciousness to shout out his mauler, Michigan State receiver/cornerback Tony Lippett.
