Art Briles could be getting a second chance.

The disgraced former Baylor football coach was spotted at Southern Mississippi interviewing for its vacant offensive coordinator position, the Sun Herald is reporting.

The 63-year-old Briles has been out of coaching since he was fired from the Big 12 school in May 2016 amid a series of sexual assault scandals involving former and current players under his watch.

Since his dismissal, Briles has come close to landing a few different jobs. He was set to join the Cowboys as a consultant, but the team backed out. The Hamilton TigerCats of the CFL hired him as their offensive coordinator last August, but the league stepped in within 24 hours, disallowing the move. Purdue and Texas Tech expressed interest, but neither place hired him. He was involved in the coaching vacancy at Waco High School, but that didn’t come to fruition, either. There was also a report he was considering going to Florence, Italy, to get back into coaching for the Guelfi Firenze American football team.

The Baylor head coach from 2008-15, he went 65-37 with four 10-win seasons. Briles was let go after an investigation said he was slow to act when told of sexual assault allegations involving several different players spanning several years.
