Michigan State disappeared against Wisconsin on Saturday in East Lansing, shrinking at the Badgers’ claws and getting shellacked 30-6. Coach Mark Dantonio was just following suit.
On the Big Ten Network telecast of the matchup, the Spartans coach was caught on camera in the closing moments of the fourth quarter. As a Michigan State player walked in front of the camera, obscuring Dantonio, the coach vanished, as if the crossing player were wiping him out.
It’s a trippy and impressive moment captured by cameras. If you watch closely, you can see Dantonio’s white shirt moving with the player, but only just barely.
But Dantonio would be excused if he wanted to disappear, coaching a No. 8 team that was getting obliterated at home.
