Former WFAN morning radio host Craig Carton is expected to go on trial in September for allegedly running a $5.6 million Ponzi scheme.
Carton, 48, is accused of promising investors huge returns if they funded bulk purchases of tickets to performances by various stars including Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Adele. But prosecutors say he used the funds to instead pay off hefty personal gambling debts.
Carton faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted on charges of conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud.
