TOKYO – Hideki Irabu wants no part of reliving his brief but turbulent Yankee career.

After pitching six innings against the Devil Rays yesterday at Tokyo Dome, the Hanshin Tigers right-hander was asked if he planned on visiting with the Yankees, who were dressing down the hall.

“No, I don’t,” Irabu said.

When the Yankees signed Irabu in 1997 they believed they were getting a pitcher who would anchor their rotation for years. Instead, due to a terrible work ethic and the belief that he should be afforded the same special privileges given to Roger Clemens and David Cone, Irabu was a $12.8 million bust.
