The Jets yesterday announced the signing of several players, highlighted by popular veteran defensive tackle Josh Evans.

Also re-signed were LB Kenyatta Wright, WR Jonathan Carter, G Jonathan Goodwin, TE Chris Baker, G Dave Yovanovits and exclusive S Oliver Celestin. The Jets, too, signed unrestricted free agent RBs Leonard Henry and Delvin Joyce.

The key signing was Evans, who missed almost all of last season with a back injury and most of the 2003 season because of a substance-abuse ban. His presence, though, should help the Jets inside with the free agency loss of Jason Ferguson.
