Moore Catholic will be in tomorrow’s CHSAA baseball championship round, but the Mavericks have to wait another day before they find out who their opponent is.

The Xaverian-St. Francis Prep loser’s bracket game was suspended because of rain yesterday in the bottom of the fourth inning at St. John’s. Xaverian had just erased a 2-0 deficit to tie the score at 2-2 when play was stopped. The teams will pick the game up from there when the game is resumed today at St. John’s at 4 p.m.

The winner of today’s game advances to play Moore tomorrow at KeySpan Park, and since the Mavericks have not lost in the playoffs double-elimination format, they need only one more win to capture their first league title since 1983.
