Our man in The Bronx is on his way.

Jason Quick, who doubles as a pressman at the Post’s Bronx plant and a professional boxer, signed a three-year deal with promoter Sal Musumeci last week and will fight for the first time as a contracted pugilist Sept. 14.

Quick (3-0, 3 KOs), a light heavyweight, will fight Ismael Rasheed (2-0, 1 KO) as part of the undercard of the “Home Cooking” event to be held in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.

“Not only is he a great fighter, but he’s a good kid,” Musumeci said. “I met him a year ago and started asking around about him. Everything came up golden. He’s determined and he works full time at one of the greatest newspapers in the world.”

Quick, originally from South Carolina, now lives in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.

“[Boxing] has always meant something to me,” said Quick, who despite his deal will continue working at The Post. “Now it means something more. I want to build a fan base; I’m going to the people. It’s like starting over again.”

This is the first time Quick will fight in his new home. “I may be from South Carolina, but I want to be recognized as one of New York’s sons,” Quick said.

Quick was at the Atlantic Oceana Restaurant in Brighton Beach yesterday with his trainers Tony Norris and Don Saxby to promote the fight. Saxby said he’s seen a new Quick since the deal was inked.

“The regimen’s the same, but he’s showed a lot more humility,” Saxby said. “His training and focus has intensified. Boxing is not something he just wants to do. It’s something he has to do.

Junior welterweight Dmitriy Salita (18-0, 11 KOs) will fight in the main event against Guben Galvan (20-5-2, 9 KOs).
