1ST RACE – This heat was over a blink after gates opened as Sarah’s Prospect, 7-5 for Gill-Shuman with Aaron Gryder up, dashed to daylight lead while still in hand. Sarah’s Prospect continued in front under hand ride, and unlike prior two starts, when she settled for second after blowing 21/2-length leads deep stretch, widened her margin to wire.

2ND RACE – Yet another horse shipping back north after winter in Florida was money in bank as Cherokee Spook, out-of-money two starts at Gulfstream, sat off speed duel between Pay Attention and 2-1 favorite Mr. Determined, accelerated along rail on turn, swung out, collared Mr. Determined just as he made lead top of stretch, drew off under Rich Migliore. Mr. Determined, disqualified from purse money for winning Feb. 19 race this N2X allowance condition after testing positive for clenbuterol, faded late, barely held third.

3RD RACE – Do they call them “track supers” because they soup up track on big-race days? Penn National shipper Chastise dashed to lead under Stewart Elliott, chased by Record Buster, good-thing 4-year-old making delayed debut for Stronach Stable, trained by Bobby Frankel, pounded to 8-5 with Javier Castellano up. Those two sizzled through fractions of :22 and :45 despite strong headwind down backside, opening big gap on rest of field, battled tooth-and-nail down stretch, with Record Buster easing clear final yards. Final time for first-time starter: 1:08.4!

5TH RACE – Lively Up Yourself, huge overlay at 48-1 despite setting fast pace, holding for third last out in much-improved second start, gunned to front under apprentice Eriluis Vaz, whistled through wind-aided first quarter in :21.4, went half in :45, kept on going. Winged Valor, son of Fusaichi Pegasus making first start for Nick Zito, was off slowly spotting field several lengths at break, trailed to top of stretch, then finished like runaway locomotive along rail. Can’tmiss Prospect, first mount back after winter in Florida for Jerry Bailey, was bet down to 6-5, tracked pace, moved up outside on turn, flattened out to finish up track.
