In the Red Bulls’ must-win game tonight against Columbus (7:30 p.m., MSG2), Juan Carlos Osorio handed rookies Mac Kandji and Matthew Mbuta starts. For Mbuta, it is the first of his MLS career.

You’ll notice midfielders Jorge Rojas and Dane Richards are both on the bench. They played in midweek wins for their respective national teams _ Venezuela and Jamaica _ so they could just be getting rested and used as late-game subs.

For Columbus, Robbie Rogers is out but in a mild surprise, Guillermo Schelotto was actually in the lineup despite his bad hamstring and the Crew having already locked up the Supporter’s Shield. Go figure….
