The Red Bulls signed midfielder Ruben Izquierdo. The young Spanish trialist will be added to New York’s roster pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate. The 5-foot-7, 144-pounder assisted the game-tying goal in yesterday’s 3-2 preseason come-from-behind win.

“Ruben is a very interesting young player with a lot of potential. He is technically very good and his willingness to work and learn bodes well for his future development,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh.

Izquierdo comes to the Red Bulls after being with England’s Charlton Athletic since 2011. The 20-year-old went on loan to Spanish side, CD San Roque de Lepe for the 2011-12 season, scoring one goal in 10 appearances. Before being at Charlton, he was a member of Halesowen Town from 2010-11, making 18 appearances and scoring two goals. A product of Mallorca’s academy, Izquierdo signed with Kidderminster Harriers in 2009.
