Agent Drew Rosenhaus used his Twitter page to announce that two teams are “very serious” about signing former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress. Rosenhaus writes, “Ran wind sprints with Plaxico Burress. There are at least 2 teams that are very serious about signing him so he has stayed in great shape.”

Rosenhaus also writes, “Plaxico got a call from an NFL head coach yesterday and he will be meeting with senior NFL executives in the near future.”

Rosenhaus did not specify the teams nor the head coach.

The Jets have not written off the possiblity of Burress, who must first avoid jail time for gun charges related to his November incident.

Rotoworld.com speculates the other team is the Bears, who also have pursued another Rosenhaus client, Anquan Boldin.
