Art Howe will be announced as the 17th manager in Mets’ history this afternoon at a Shea Stadium press conference. The former Oakland manager agreed to a four-year, $9.4 million contract last Wednesday night.

Howe, 55, has a record of 992-951 (.511) in 12 seasons as a manager with the Astros and Athletics.
