The long saga of Vin Baker is expected to come to a head today when the Knicks are expected to find out whether they can sign the troubled ex-Celtic forward.
Baker, a former all-star, is waiting to see if arbitrator Roger Kaplan voids his $35 million deal with the Celtics.
A Players’ Association source said there was a 60-65 percent chance the arbiter’s ruling would go in Baker’s favor, making Baker a free agent.
Baker is battling alcoholism and hasn’t played since January, when Boston terminated the last two seasons of his contract.
He was averaging 11.3 points and 5.7 rebounds, and sources have told The Post he wants to be a Knick. He worked out with the club 10 days ago.
