DELAWARE, Oh. – Astreos, driven by Chris Christoforou, Jr., captured the $547,972 Little Brown Jug at the Delaware County Fairgrounds yesterday afternoon by one length in 1:55.3.

For the second straight year, it took a four-horse raceoff to determine the winner of one of harness racing’s oldest and most prestigious pacing events.

Christoforou, Jr., moved Astreos right to the lead from post position three in the third and deciding heat of the Jug. Gallo Blue Chip, winner of the $1 million Meadowlands Pace, challenged early and then sat in the pocket but was unable to catch Astreos in the stretch.

George Scooter finished third and Profita finished fourth.

Astreos paid $5.60 to win.
