With five Grade 1 “Breeders’ Cup Preview” stakes scheduled for today, including the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup, and with heavy rain falling overnight and through the morning, live racing was cancelled yesterday at Belmont Park.

The track was open for simulcasting.

Also, two of the three turf stakes on tomorrow’s card were re-scheduled for Wednesday: The Pilgrim and Miss Grillo.

The Grade 3 Kelso, a prep for the Breeders’ Cup Mile, still will be run tomorrow and kept on the turf, if possible.
