Racing and simulcasting at Aqueduct were cancelled early yesterday morning because of the massive snowstorm that dumped up to six inches on New York. As usual, the cancellation had less to do with track condition than it did the inconvenience of workers and customers to negotiate the slushy roads to the track.

The Big A will reopen today for nine races, headlined by the $75,000 Whirlaway Stakes for 3-year-olds on the Triple Crown trail.

Yonkers Raceway also cancelled its card last night.
