If nothing else, the Big East’s announcement yesterday that it was retaining former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue as a “Special Adviser” shows the league is not going to sit still while the college landscape likely undergoes seismic change.
The mere fact that the Big East made the announcement in the middle of the spring BCS meetings in Arizona speaks louder than any comment conference commissioner John Marinatto said in a telephone interview with The Post.
“We’re looking to be aggressive, to think outside of the box, to be on the cutting edge and to strategically position ourselves,” he said.
