JET NOTES

Bills quarterback Drew Bledsoe, who was knocked out of the game by a helmet-to-helmet hit by Giants’ defensive tackle Keith Hamilton Sunday, is listed as probable on the injury report and is expected to play.

“I wouldn’t say I feel completely normal, but I’m all right,” Bledsoe said yesterday. “My head doesn’t hurt, but I’m feeling a little dizzy, a little light-headed. But this is football, man. You play. If I’m able to play, I’m going to play and that’s going to be the way I’ll be until I quit playing the game.”

If Bledsoe is unable to play, Alex Van Pelt, who’s thrown 12 passes this season and has a 14.2 rating, would step in.

Jets’ DE John Abraham remains listed as doubtful with his strained groin and is not going to play Sunday, meaning he’ll have missed a fifth game with this injury and a sixth overall this season. DB David Young is out with a hamstring injury.

DT Josh Evans, CB Aaron Beasley and LBs Sam Cowart and Jason Glenn were all “sore,” according to Herman Edwards, and were limited in practice. All are expected to play Sunday.

RB LaMont Jordan, who’s been nursing a broken finger on his right hand and hasn’t played much the last couple of weeks, is having his cast shaved down further. “Hopefully, we can get him to carry the ball a little this week,” Edwards said. “He’s about ready. It’s been three weeks since the injury.”

There is usually a three-foot high bobblehead doll of Edwards in the locker room that was missing from its place yesterday. Apparently, while some equipment was being moved in the locker room, it was knocked down and broken. Jets’ equipment manager Clay Hampton, acting as the surgeon, glued the pieces back together and, as a joke, put some bandages on Edwards’ face and right shoulder. Edwards, however, is not on the injury list this week.
