A poor final eight minutes wiped out the sharp 24 proceeding it as Robeson fell to Hillhouse (Conn.), 74-65, in the Big Apple Basketball Invitational at Baruch College Monday afternoon.
The Eagles held a six-point lead after three quarters before being outscored 38-23 in the final stanza. Darrel Lucky, one of the city’s top uncommitted seniors, scored 32 points, but also committed six of Robeson’s 20 turnovers. Shawn Ponds added nine points for the Eagles (10-9). Seton Hall-bound guard Freddie Wilson was held to 14 points for Hillhouse, but Drew Crudup poured in 31.
No. 8 Mount St. Michael 72, Bayside 52: Peter Aguilar had 26 points and Malik Gill added 10 points and seven assists to lead Mount St. Michael (15-0) to a non-league win Monday afternoon in The Bronx. Bayside is 12-7.
St. John’s Prep 56, Bishop Ford 55: Ryan Yearwood had 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Kemal Pirovic had 15 points and Chris McNeil added five points, six rebounds and six assists for St. John’s Prep (3-10), which opened up a 12-point lead after three quarters to snap an eight-game losing streak. Arend Augustus had 20 points for Bishop Ford (5-7).
Archbishop Stepinac 55, Fordham Prep 49: James Chillemi had 16 points, Conroy Baltimore had 11 and Austin Taps added 10 for Stepinac (11-5) Monday in The Bronx. Tom Whelan had 18 points and Peter Carlino added nine for Fordham Prep (10-2).
Xavier 65, Liverpool 64: Eddie Sullivan had 16 points and eight assists to earn MVP honors, all-tournament selection Brendan Ferguson had 12 points and Matt Crockett had 14 points and six rebounds for Xavier (7-7), which captured the Juggler Classic Sunday night at SUNY Institute of Technology.
Pathways 77, Law Enforcement & Public Safety 50: Jordan Washington made 9-of-11 free throws, scored 29 points and grabbed 21 rebounds, Anthony Jacobs had 12 points and four assists and Reginald McKenzie tallied 11 for Pathways (10-0) in Queens B East. Law Enforcement is now 5-5.
Curtis 67, Port Richmond 56: Dashawn Richmond scored 19 points and Debonair Edwards and Kevin McIntosh also added 14 apiece for Curtis (11-1), which has won 10 in a row in Staten Island A. Presnell Wright had 19 points for Port Richmond, which is 5-7.
Tottenville 57, New Dorp 46: Kevin Alesi poured in 20 points and Steven Santiago notched 11 or Tottenville (5-6) in Staten Island A. New Dorp is now 6-5.
CSI/McCown 56, Susan Wagner 51: Brandon O’Keefe tallied 16 points and Quamaine Tomlin had nine for CSI/McCown (4-7) in Staten Island A. Andrey Pakholskiy finished with 18 points for Susan Wagner (4-6) in defeat.
