Boys & Girls guard Mike Taylor, one of the top seniors in New York City, committed to Rutgers today, his father, Mike Sr., confirmed to The Post. He chose the Scarlet Knights over Virginia Tech, South Florida, South Carolina and Pittsburgh.
He joins an impressive recruiting class that includes former Rice star Kadeem Jack, Bronx native Derrick Randall and New Jersey standout Myles Mack. Taylor made the commitment during a visit to the Piscataway school this afternoon. While he was there, he attended the Rutgers-North Carolina football game.
The 6-foot-3 Taylor, a first team All-City selection by The Post this past season, led Boys & Girls to its first PSAL city championship in 31 years in March. He averaged 15.8 points per game for the Kangaroos, who fell to Christ the King in the New York State Federation Class AA championship game.
