The Fire pried Chicago native Brian McBride away from Fulham last summer; now could the veteran target man be headed back to Craven Cottage on a loan?

Sky Sports says Fulham is talking with MLS and McBride to get a loan move done before the transfer window shuts. The move makes sense for Fulham, since they sold Jimmy Bullard to Hull and McBride is a fan favorite who has scored 40 goals for the club. I’m not sure it makes as much sense for the Fire, who start the season is less than two months.

The 36-year-old isn’t quite David Beckham or Landon Donovan, but there does seem to be a trend of high-profile MLS players going out on loan. Remember, Jorge Rojas asked to go out on loan in Venezuela, but the Red Bulls refused to allow it. What do you think of McBride’s loan, if it goes through?
