Uncle Camie was able to take advantage of extremely fast fractions set by Don Six to take over the lead in the stretch and draw off to win the Grade 3, $104,600 Bold Ruler Stakes by 23/4 lengths at Belmont yesterday.

Don Six held on to be second, with Thunder Touch a head back in third. Leading rider Richard Migliore guided the Mike Hushion trainee to victory, running the six furlongs in 1:08.67.

Seeking the Ante, also entered in the Bouwerie Stakes versus state-breds today, remained in the Grade 2, $200,000 Nassau County Breeders’ Cup and ran down Slew Motion for the victory by a length. The John Kimmel trainee by Seeking the Gold was ridden to victory by Mike Luzzi and ran the seven furlongs in 1:22.86.

2ND RACE – Even though he doesn’t ride for Bobby Frankel often in the afternoon, Aaron Gryder is very familiar with his runners as he often gets on them in the mornings. So when the mount for Record Buster became available with Javier Castellano in Kentucky for the Derby, it was a natural choice for Gryder to get the mount. He sent Buster to the lead while on the rail but faced stiff pressure from Euro Code. He was able to put that one away and then hold off the fast closing Executive Choice for the victory. Trainer Michael Brice claimed foul on Executive Choice, claiming he interfered his trainee Exploit Lad in the stretch drive. But after a review, no action was taken.

3RD RACE – One of the best speed riders of the game returned to New York as Chuckie Lopez was aboard first time starter With A Passion. Lopez sent the firster to the lead and was looking for competition when turning for home. But first-time starter Token of Affection, who broke slowly, was closing powerfully on the outside. The Mike Hushion trainee caught the pacesetter nearing the wire for the victory.

5TH RACE – Favored Madonna Lilly was sent to the lead and was able to set relax on the lead while facing mild pressure from She’s Sterling. Madonna Lilly put that one away on the far turn and was edging away from the field. But then Wait It Out was closing well on the outside in the stretch drive. But she ran out of turf and ended up second best.

6TH RACE – Favored Rumspringa stalked the pace and then on the far turn, made a four-wide move towards the lead with Mambo Minstrel moving inside of her. At the top of the stretch, Rumspringa took the lead and looked like she would draw off for the victory. But Mambo Minstrel dug in to regain the lead and edged away for the victory.
