We are still two months away from the season’s start, but it never hurts to talk a little college football.

CBS Sportsline’s Dennis Dodd picked Rutgers to win the Big East this season. Dodd gives the nod to the Scarlet Knights, but admits it should be a tough battle for the Big East’s BCS spot.

The four teams most likely to compete with Rutgers for the title, South Florida, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and West Virginia, all have to travel to New Jersey to play Rutgers. That leaves RU with three winnable conference road games at Connecticut, Louisville and Syracuse, who Dodd picks to finish last in the conference.

Rutgers lost quarterback Mike Teel and wide receivers Kenny Britt and Tiquan Underwood, but return 16 starters from last year’s team that ended the season on a seven-game winning streak.

Here is the predicted order of finish:

1. Rutgers

2. South Florida

3. Pittsburgh

4. Cincinnati

5. West Virginia

6. Connecticut

7. Louisville

8. Syracuse.
