A summer of searching is over for Tayshana (Chicken) Murphy.

The former Bishop Loughlin guard has enrolled at Murry Bergtraum, home of the 12-time defending PSAL Class AA girls basketball champions, her godfather Kasim Alston told The Post. Her first day of classes was Tuesday after choosing not to leave New York City or follow the other St. Michael Academy players to Nazareth.

“She wasn’t going to be able to travel back to Brooklyn,” said Alston, who is also the first-year Loughlin varsity coach. “So we looked for the best academic public school where she could showcase her athletic talents.”

Alston also confirmed that Murphy, a junior who is considered one of the top players in the country in her grade, suffered a knee injury playing at the St. John’s University team camp in late August and is going to physical therapy for it.

Murphy transferred to St. Michael Academy, which later closed its doors for good, in February. She left Loughlin for her safety and academic future after getting into a fight at a boys basketball game Jan. 22 and has not played a high school game since.

At Bergtraum, Murphy, if healthy, could instantly become one of the Lady Blazers’ centerpieces along with senior guard Cori Coleman after the loss of decorated seniors CeCe Dixon, Doris Ortega and Shukurah Washington. Coach Ed Grezinsky did not return a phone message Tuesday night.
