Fontbonne halted a show start with its first win of the season.

The Bonnies scored six runs in the fourth inning to pull away for an eventual 13-10 win over visiting Christ the King at Dyker Park Monday. Natalia Sroga was 3-for-3, including a two-RBI single in the fourth, to help give Fontbonne a 10-8 lead.

“It’s about time,” Fontbonne coach Frank Marinello said. “You need to get the first one out of the way.”

Kristina Mandala was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Nicolette Tarpani allowed just three runs over the final four innings in relief of Serrantino. Nicole Iorio collected three hits for Christ the King (0-3), which got the tying run to the plate with two outs in the seventh. The Bonnies opened the season with a 5-3 loss to St. Francis Prep and fell 15-11 to rival Bishop Kearney after a loss to Mary Louis.

Mary Louis 11, St. Edmund 1: Julie Canova was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs for Mary Louis (3-1) in CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Division I. Deirdre Munday had a two-run single and scored twice. Rebecca Warne and Erin Gilfoyle combined for a six-inning one-hitter. St. Edmund is 0-2.

NON-LEAGUE

St. Joseph by the Sea 5, Nutley (N.J.) 1: Freshman Alannah Dawson was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the sixth inning for St. Joseph by the Sea in non-league. Alexa Tedeschi scattered eight hits and walked just one. Maria Scopellito had two hits and went first to third on a sac bunt in the third inning. She later scored the first run on a Jackie Kelly RBI single. The wins snaps Sea’s two-game losing streak.

CHSAA STATEN ISLAND

Moore Catholic 13, St. Joseph Hill 1: Krissa Sagona was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a two-run homer for Moore Catholic (4-1) in CHSAA Staten Island. Kelly Graham tossed a two-hitter and Taylor Baggs and Nicole DeMartino each drove in two runs. St. Joseph Hill is 2-3.

CHSAA BRONX/WESTCHESTER

Cardinal Spellman 11, Good Counsel 2: Tiffany Rondon allowed just three hits, struck out seven and walked five for Cardinal Spellman (2-1) in CHSAA Bronx/Westchester. Victoria Quinones smashed a two-run homer and walked three times. Victoria Quinones was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Joanne Guerra was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

CHSAA BROOKLYN/QUEENS DIVISION II

Nazareth 12, St. John’s Prep 7: Stacy Peralta struck out nine batters and went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs at the plate for Nazareth (3-2), which has won two straight a year after not recording a single victory. Gracy Dubon was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Kenya Santo had a pair of runs scored. St. John’s Prep beat Naz in the Lady Kingsmen’s league opener.
