St. Joseph by the Sea continues to show off its pitching depth.

Third starter Lianna Jordan tossed a six-inning no-hitter to help the Vikings beat visiting St. Joseph Hill 8-0 in CHSAA Staten Island softball Monday. The sophomore struck out nine, but walked six.

Hartford-bound senior Maria Scopellito helped lead a balanced Sea attack. She had four hits, three RBIs and stole three bases. Scopellito, Kristina Mazzarisi, Jackie Cautela, Megan Seaman and Tina-Marie Scaramella all drove in runs during a five-run third inning that broke the game open. Scaramella had two hits and two RBIs. The Vikings (9-1) had not played since a 4-3 defeat to Moore Catholic Monday and face St. John Villa Tuesday at South Beach. St. Joseph Hill is 6-6.

Cardinal Spellman 6, Good Counsel 5: The Pilots scored twice in the eighth when a Cyre Dalmau ground out plated Kristen Carew and Joann Guerra homered to left center field to make it 6-4. Guerra nearly hit for the cycle, also collecting a single and a triple. Tiffany Rondon scattered 11 hits, struck out five and walked none. The junior also smashed a two-run triple in the sixth to give Spellman (9-3), which may lose Victoria Quinones for the season with a knee injury, a 4-3 lead.
