In a text to a Houston TV station, Roger Clemens said he plans to pitch again for the independent Sugar Land (Texas) Skeeters in a home game against the Long Island Ducks on Sept. 7.
Last Saturday in his Skeeters debut, Clemens pitched 3 1/2 scoreless innings against the Bridgeport (Conn.) Bluefish.
Meanwhile, Clemens shot a 73 yesterday at the World Amateur Golf Championship and is tied for first place in Flight 18 heading into today’s final round of the 72-hole event which is being held in the Myrtle Beach area.
Clemens, an eight-handicapper, is among 3,100 amateur golfers competing in 68 flights.
