2ND RACE – Tough break for Aly’s Colors in first start for new trainer Kristina Dupps. Breaking from post position one, she ducked in badly into gap when leaving starting gate and spotted field a few lengths. She recovered to rate off pace and then made wide move on turn to reach contention. In stretch drive, she gained ground quickly on favored Sydsational, but she ran out of ground and ended up second best.

4TH RACE – It was rough race from start to finish. When entering clubhouse turn, Honey Fritters checked sharply when Biogio’s Kids cut in front of her, effectively eliminating her from race. Then in stretch drive, favored Cologne, who raced close to pace while under hard hold from Eibar Coa, and pacesetting Up and Down battled to wire while bumping each other repeatedly. Cologne edged away nearing wire but had to survive a stewards’ inquiry, giving Coa third victory in as many mounts.

5TH RACE – Fines Creek was much the best but had no luck. Nearing far turn, Coa aboard Wild Card Deck looked to his left to see where Fines Creek was. When favored Mombo Loco started to angle inside entering far turn, Wild Card Deck also went inside and forced Fines Creek to check. In stretch drive, Fines Creek was still on rail and didn’t have hole to get through until deep stretch. Once he got a little hole, he shot through but couldn’t catch Wild Card Deck for victory. There was stewards’ inquiry into incident on far turn, but no action was taken and Wild Card Deck was declared winner, giving Coa fourth victory on day.

7TH RACE – Thunderstorm was quickly approaching and, when horses were in paddock, Juneau flipped. After being checked out by vet, she was scratched. Because of lightning nearby, horses went straight from paddock to starting gate and race was started two minutes early. Favored Nothing But Fun stalked pace, took over turning for home and went on for victory.

8TH RACE – Track was sealed and post time was moved up because of storm. Heavy rains arrived while horses were in paddock and, again, field went straight to gate. Nevaeh acted up in gate and bore out when gates opened, hitting favored Intense Desire. Latter didn’t handle sealed off going while saving ground and fell back to be last. Every Trick battled for lead with Unbridled Sunshine, drew off in stretch but was getting leg weary. Nevaeh gained ground quickly but ended up one stride short.
