SARATOGA SPRINGS — Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert’s 3-year-old colt Coil, coming off a hard-fought victory in the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park, will run in Saturday’s $1 million Travers Stakes at Saratoga, Baffert announced Tuesday morning after the chestnut colt sizzled through a five-furlong workout in 58.44 seconds.

Coil will be trying to duplicate the feat of his sire, Point Given, who won the Haskell and Travers in 2001 en route to Horse of the Year honors.
