After coming to training camp on trials with the Red Bulls the past two seasons, New Jerseyan Scott Palguta is getting an MLS shot with Colorado according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

RBNY had offered the 26-year-old Toms River native a senior contract last season but Rochester wouldn’t let the defender go, and this year coach Juan Carlos Osorio chose National Teamers Carlos Johnson and Alfredo Pacheco as defensive options instead.

After seeing Rochester block his transfer to Red Bull last year, Palguta sagely put language into his new two-year contract that let him sign for any MLS team before Sept. 15. Now, instead of whatever RBNY was offering last year, Rochester is having to deal with losing it’s best defender just five weeks before the season-opener.
